Bring your friends and neighbours to hear from Uncle Andrew Gardiner, Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Traditional Owner with representatives from:
- First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria
- Treaty Authority
- Reconciliation Victoria.
The talk, with a panel discussion and Q&A, will be facilitated by the editor of Victorian Aboriginal News, Uncle Charles Pakana.
Background information
Treaty negotiations have started in Victoria. This Statewide Treaty will be a formal agreement between the Victorian Government and First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria.
Treaty aims to create a fairer future for all Victorians and will focus on important issues like improving health, education and justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Municipal Association of Victoria in partnership with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria has approached City of Boroondara to help raise community understanding about the Treaty process and foster respectful dialogue.
