Event details
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the digital world, making it easier than ever to create deepfakes — AI-generated videos, images and audio that can imitate real people with alarming accuracy. These technologies can hijack your face, mimic your voice and spread misinformation, posing serious threats to democracy, public trust and personal safety.
Join Dr Lucas Whittaker, lecturer in Marketing at Swinburne University, as he explores how deepfakes are reshaping communication, the risks they pose and what we can do to stay informed. This session will teach you practical strategies to identify and protect yourself from deepfakes in today’s increasingly deceptive digital landscape.
This free event is at the Copland Room at Ashburton Library.
