Celebrate culture, creativity and connection with the Friendship and Wellbeing Association across three special events during the Victorian Seniors Festival.

Tai Chi Demonstration and Workshop

Ms Wang Mingzhen, a sixth-generation successor of Yang-style Tai Chi, will present demonstrations of the 24-form and 42-form Tai Chi routines. Participants will also enjoy a demonstration, explanation and guided practice of Tai Chi Sword techniques.

Shanghai Opera Appreciation

10:30 am to 11:30 am

Enjoy an appreciation of classic Shanghai Opera performances, including Meeting in the Nunnery and other traditional favourites. Under the guidance of Ms Qian, a retired professional actress, seniors and community members will come together to sing and celebrate this rich cultural art form.

Qipao Fashion Show and Dance Experience

Friday, 23 October 2026
1 pm to 2:30 pm

Experience the elegance of a Qipao fashion show featuring Let Time Bloom into a Flower. Led by Ms Xu Wenying, participants will learn catwalk, Latin dance and the traditional Munau dance.
