Small Grants open date

Due to the timing of the 2026 Annual Grants, the Small Grants round will not be offered this year. Applications for small projects up to $3,000 can be made in the Annual Grant round opening 9 am on Monday 13 April 2026. To accommodate this change, the Annual Grants will be open longer and will now close at 5 pm on Monday 18 May 2026.

Small Grants provide financial support of up to $3,000 for small services, programs and activities that strengthen the Boroondara community or up to $2,000 for equipment.

Grant themes and aims

Applications will be accepted under the following themes and aims of the Boroondara Community Plan 2025-35:

Theme 1: Our community

  • 1.1 Physical activity
  • 1.2 Health, wellbeing and social connection
  • 1.3 Safety and resilience
  • 1.4 Lifelong learning
  • 1.5 Arts and culture
  • 1.6 Diversity and inclusion

Theme 2: Our places

  • 2.6 Local economy

Theme 3: Our environment

  • 3.1 Tree canopy and biodiversity
  • 3.4 Circular economy

Theme 4: Our Council

  • 4.1 Reconciliation
