Everyone has a right to feel included and belong in our community. There are a number of sport and recreation opportunities that people with a disability can participate in within the City of Boroondara.
Providing accessible sport allows people with a disability to become more active, interact with others, be part of a team environment and have the opportunity to try out new sports and recreational activities.

The Ashburton Willows Cricket Club Junior Blasters is for kids who want to learn the basic skills of cricket with fun, game-based activities. The activities are designed for small groups to make sure every child gets a go. When kids have mastered the basics, we encourage them to join one of our under 10s junior cricket club teams.

From 23 October, there will be 6 sessions at Ferndale Park between 9–10am on Saturdays.

Cost: $99, which includes a participant pack from Cricket Australia that includes the equipment they need for the season.

We're inviting all boys and girls between 5 and 16 to play junior cricket with the Ashburton Willows Junior Cricket Club this season! The Ashburton Willows Junior Cricket Club is a proud, successful, sociable and family-oriented community club. It has a unique specialist coaching and playing mentorship model.

We are passionate about the development of our Junior Cricket Program and would love you and your families to be involved. AWCC has the following Junior Cricket Teams confirmed for the 2021/2 season.

Junior Blasters ages 5-7

The NAB AFL Auskick program makes learning to play AFL fun, safe and easy for boys and girls. Through weekly coaching sessions, boys and girls will learn the skills of the game in an exciting, social and safe environment. If your child is over 5 and in years Prep to Grade 2, Camberwell Sharks recommends a fun dose of Auskick to start off their footy career!

Each week kids 5 and above get an introduction to the skills of Australian Football through fun and inclusive activities.

Takes place at Balwyn Park on a Friday and Greythorn Park on a Saturday.

Aussie Aths is a health and fitness program for Aussie kids aged 5 to 13 years based on athletics. It’s about learning to go faster, higher, further in a fun environment that kids of all abilities will enjoy.

Aussie Aths develops the ABCs – agility, balance, coordination and speed of every child in a fun, game-based program. It’s not standing in a line, it’s not lining up for a race. Think of it like swimming lessons, but for running.

Aussie Aths is great fun and will help Aussie kids be more athletic in everyday life and in whatever sport they love.

Sessions take place at multiple locations across Glen Iris.

Play basketball with our Canterbury Cougars Basketball Club, we play and train in the Boroondara Council and have been part of the community for 25 years!
We have teams across the following age groups: U9s, U10s and then all the way up to U23s. You can be as young as 6 when starting at our club in U8s.
We welcome boys and girls of all ages and abilities. We provide coaches and training venues for all our teams. We are proud of our fun, inclusive and skills based club!

Fun, non competitive girl focused activities to promote friendship, citizenship and adventure. Weekly meetings during term time invite girls to try new things, make new friends and explore a range of activities. Try free of charge for 3 weeks before having to join up.

A fun and interactive dance session for the whole family presented by the Kew Neighbourhood Learning Centre. Dance away all the stresses of the day before it has even started!

U10s is the first step on the inter-club journey in the Kew Cricket Club Junior Development Program. Games are played in the Eastern Cricket Association using the Cricket Australia Stage 1 Format which encourages participation and opportunities for skill development.

The Kew Cricket Club Junior Development Program is designed for enjoyment, to foster a love of the game and to maximise skill acquisition. Developed and delivered by Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 accredited coaches, the Kew Cricket Club Junior Development Program is for girls and boys of all ages and ability levels.
