Activities for seniors

We are a Probus Club, which provides fellowship, fun and friendship to all retirees. We meet on the second Friday of each month except January from 10 am to noon. We have coffee mornings, a walking group, a group subscribing to the Malvern Theatre company and we also have day activities visiting places of interest. Cost: contact club for details.

Balwyn Probus offers many activity groups including Investment, Walking, Coffee and cake, Movies, Writing for pleasure, Ukulele and Tech Talk. All groups meet monthly on the fourth Friday of the month at Balwyn Community Centre, where we hear a thought-provoking speaker and enjoy the company of friends the club has helped us make. We welcome partners, friends and visitors to join us in all activities. We offer a 60-day guest membership.

Ελληνική Λέσχη Ηλικιωμένων North Balwyn & Districts: Μια ομάδα για Έλληνες ηλικιωμένους που συγκεντρώνονται για να γιορτάσουν εκδηλώσεις όπως το Πάσχα και τα Χριστούγεννα. Οργανώνουμε ημερήσιες εκδρομές, παιχνίδια, ομιλίες με προσκεκλημένους ομιλητές και μεσημεριανά γεύματα.

A group for Greek seniors to get together and celebrate events such as Easter and Christmas. We organise day trips, games, guest speakers and lunches. Wednesdays 9 am to 1 pm. Cost: $5 membership plus $5 entry fee.

Ελληνική Λέσχη Ηλικιωμένων Hawthorn Kew Districts Inc: Συγκεντρώνονται ελληνόφωνες ηλικιωμένοι για να γιορτάσουν εκδηλώσεις όπως το Πάσχα και τα Χριστούγεννα, πάνε σε ημερήσιες εκδρομές, παίζουν χαρτιά, ντόμινο, τάβλι, μπίνγκο, πινγκ-πονγκ. Τέσσερις φορές το μήνα οργανώνονται μεσημεριανά γεύματα.

Greek speaking seniors get together to celebrate events like Easter and Christmas, go on day trips, play cards, dominoes, backgammon, bingo, table tennis. We meet Thursday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Cost: $5 membership plus $5 entry.

Κέντρο Ελλήνων Βετεράνων Λέσχη Ηλικιωμένων του Kew & Districts Inc: Συγκεντρώνονται ελληνόφωνες ηλικιωμένοι για να γιορτάσουν εκδηλώσεις όπως το Πάσχα και τα Χριστούγεννα, πάνε σε ημερήσιες εκδρομές, παίζουν χαρτιά, ντόμινο, τάβλι, μπίνγκο, πινγκ-πονγκ. Τέσσερις φορές το μήνα οργανώνονται μεσημεριανά γεύματα. The aim of Chatty Café Australia is to help connect communities and increase social interactions by getting people chatting – either in their favourite local neighbourhood social venues or while travelling through other Aussie communities to meet the local folk.

Chatty Café is about building friendly social connections – through simple interactions that may brighten someone’s day. Everyone is welcome at our Chatty Café!

Attending the group is free, once you’ve signed up for Centre membership (which is $20 per calendar year).

Chatty Café meets Monday, weekly at Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre from 10am-11am, during school term.
