Some of our services are closed or have different hours over Easter, from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April.

To be the best you can be while working with us, you need to be the best you. Here are some ways we can help.

Flexibility at work

We know working 9-5 doesn’t suit everyone, and that balancing home and work life is vital for the health and wellbeing of our workforce. We offer a range of different work flexibility options for different roles.

We also offer multiple leave options, including:

  • the ability to purchase additional leave
  • 17 weeks paid primary carer leave
  • a special sick leave bank so we can help our employees when they need it the most.

Health and wellbeing

We're committed to helping our employees stay healthy in body and mind, and we offer a range of programs to support the different wellbeing needs of our employees.

Discounted rates for aquatic and leisure centres

We have great aquatic and leisure centres throughout Boroondara and eligible employees can receive a 50% discount on a standard term subscription or ongoing membership rates. You can also salary sacrifice membership fees through payroll deductions.

Annual program of healthy activities

We have a fantastic health and wellbeing calendar of activities and information sessions that are held throughout the year. We even have a free on-site physiotherapist and offer massage, reflexology and Pilates at a discounted rate.

Employee Assistance Program

We want everyone to have a safe and healthy work environment, where taking care of your psychological wellbeing is considered just as important as taking care of your physical health.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential, short-term, solution-focussed counselling service available to all City of Boroondara employees free of charge.

It's a great resource that can help you identify and resolve both workplace and personal issues in a professional and strictly confidential setting.

We care about the environment and we’re committed to environmentally sustainable practices. This message was clear when we asked our people what they loved about working at Boroondara.
