An important milestone for Kew Recreation Centre

We’ve reached an important milestone in the Kew Recreation Centre redevelopment.

All structural steel for the new facility has now been installed, inspected and signed off in line with the project quality assurance measures. This means the tower crane has now been dismantled and removed from the site.

Significant progress is happening across the site. This month, work was completed or started in these areas:

Sports courts

The timber flooring is now complete, including line marking.

Warm water pool and spa, quiet studio and consult suites

Strong progress has been made on tiling the warm water pool and installing the ceiling.

25 metre and learn-to-swim pools

Ceiling framing and layout work continue, with skylight support structures now complete. Window framing and glazing installation have also started.

Leisure pool, aqua play area, change rooms and party room

Ceiling installation is underway.

Foyer and crèche

Plasterboard lining is underway.

Fitness and gym areas

Structural steel installation is now complete and roofing has commenced.
