The Victorian Government is continuing work on the North East Link (NEL) project. As the work progresses, there will be disruptions to the Eastern Freeway and nearby roads. We encourage you to:

• check for the latest updates on Victoria’s Big Build website
• plan ahead during closures
• seek alternative routes and allow extra time.

Eastern Freeway weekend closure

From 10 pm Friday 3 July to 5 am Monday 6 July, the Eastern Freeway will be closed in both directions between Bulleen and Springvale Roads.

During closure delays of up to 90 minutes are expected during peak times. We encourage you to plan ahead.

Check out progress on the Bulleen Mega Lift

Not far from Boroondara, the NEL team invites you to find out more about their ‘Mid-Winter Mega Lift 2.0’ at a free BBQ event in Bulleen on Saturday 4 July.

The Mid-Winter Mega Lift 2.0 will see another massive structure lifted into place over the Eastern Freeway, to form part of the ramps connecting it to the new North East Link tunnels

If you have questions or want to learn more about the next stage of works, this event is a great opportunity to chat to the NEL project team and to check out construction progress.

You can find the Bulleen Park and Ride on the other side of the Eastern Freeway, near Bulleen Road.
This is a family and pet-friendly event for all ages.

Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp temporary closure

From 5 am Monday 6 July to early August, the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance (EBTA) will close the Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp for up to 4 weeks.

During this closure, they’ll complete 24/7 works to build foundations for a new shared path underpass at the Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp, new noise walls and carry out pavement works.
