Botanic Gardens Week 2026 runs from Monday 18 May to Sunday 24 May. This year’s theme, Where Your Health Grows, highlights how botanic gardens and arboreta can support our health and wellbeing.

Visit our local Maranoa Botanic Gardens in Balwyn and take part in a range of simple, feel-good activities you can enjoy at your own pace throughout the week.

Maranoa Botanic Gardens is located at Parring Road, Balwyn and open 7:30 am to 4 pm during the week.

What’s on (all week)

• Botanical wellness bingo – pick up a bingo card from the office and see what you can spot.
• Green prescription trail – follow the mapped walk with gentle ‘pause and breathe’ prompts.
• Mindful art moments – stop and draw nature at art easels around the gardens.
• Tree yoga for kids – follow the signs near the woodland lawn and try a pose.
• Garden tours – join a guided walk on Tuesday 19 May or Thursday 21 May at 10:30 am to learn more about the gardens.

Saturday 23 May: special event day

From 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday 23 May, drop in for extra activities including:

• Coffee truck on site from 8 am to 2 pm. Bring a reusable cup for 50 cents off.
• Guided bird walk at 8 am. Bookings required.
• Tai Chi at 9 am. Bookings required.
• Self-guided children’s activities from 9 am to 5 pm.
• Tool sharpening pop-up – bring your hand tools and have them professionally sharpened from 10 am to 2 pm. Bookings required.
• Guided garden walk at 12:30 pm. Bookings required.
