We're upgrading the facilities at Frog Hollow Reserve. The public toilets and car park are closed until construction is completed in late 2025.

Suitable for sports including cricket and soccer, children's play, barbecues and small events.

Bowen Gardens

With its fun-filled adventure playground and plenty of open space, Riversdale Park is a popular place for events and social gatherings.

In December each year, there's a popular and free Summertime Cinema screening in the park.

As well as slides, swings and a roundabout, children can enjoy the spider’s web, climbing wall and large seesaw. One swing has a harness.

The park is next to East Camberwell Tennis Club. There is parking off Spencer Road in front of the tennis club.

Public transport

Train: the park is a short walk from Riversdale Station.

Tram 70: get off at Spencer Road/Riversdale Road (Camberwell) or Willow Grove/Riversdale Road.

Public transport

Train: The closest train stations are East Camberwell (400 m away) and Camberwell (500 m away).

Tram 72: get off at the Camberwell Station/Burke Road stop. Walk along Cookson Street for about 6 minutes (550 m).

About the gardens

The park is named after Major Frederick Fitzwalter Read, a former mayor of Camberwell.

The commemorative drinking fountain in the centre of the garden was installed in his honour.
