We offer a subsidised fee for library meeting room bookings to eligible groups and individuals.

To be eligible, customers must be registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) or not make a profit for members or shareholders.

You may be asked to provide your ABN or other documentation to confirm your non-profit status.

Corporate and other for-profit customers are charged the standard rate.

Parking and transport

Free, timed parking is available in the Hawthorn Community Precinct car park. Accessible parking is available for free, all day.

Bike racks are available outside the Precinct.

Public transport

The Precinct is 450 m from Glenferrie train station.

Tram 16 (Melbourne University to Kew) stops 130 m from the Precinct at the corner of Glenferrie Road and Urquhart Street (Stop 71).

Booking times

7 days a week excluding public holidays: 8 am to 10 pm.

You must set up and pack up the meeting room during your booking time.

This meeting room is bookable outside of the library opening hours. If your booking time is outside the Hawthorn library opening hours, you will need to:

  • collect your access card during library opening hours. Your access card can be collected within 48 hours of your booking.
  • access the meeting room via the north entrance.
