Canterbury Gardens – garden area and rotunda

Canterbury Gardens is suitable for:

small intimate weddings
picnics
social gatherings
other celebrations.

The rotunda offers magnificent views of the gardens with its mature trees and lush lawns. Another highlight is the path and bridge, which move through an avenue of weeping cherry trees.

Bookings

You can book the rotunda and a grass area in the garden for your exclusive use.

You can apply to bring up to 20 chairs and 2 tables for events.

You can't bring a marquee, arbour or other shade structure.

Booking fees

Space	Fee
Alexandra Gardens, Canterbury Gardens, Surrey Gardens	$170 per hour (includes exclusive use of the rotunda). Commercial hire fee $1800.00 per day.
Central Gardens, Wallen Road Reserve and Maranoa Botanic Gardens	$170 per 4-hour block. Commercial hire fee $1800.00 per day.
All other parks and gardens	$170 per 4-hour block. Commercial hire fee $1800.00 per day.
Event bond	minimum $200

Booking times

7 days including public holidays.

April to October: 8 am to 6 pm.

November to March: 8 am to 8:30 pm.

Public facilities

Public facilities are free for all park visitors to use - they are not included as part of a booking.

Parking and transport

Rotunda cleaning schedule

Our staff check the historic rotunda every Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings to remove litter, debris and hazards and report any damage or graffiti.

We aim to keep our facilities in pristine condition. However, as they are open to the elements and public access, we can’t guarantee that your facility will be free from damage.

We recommend that a member of your party does a last-minute check before your booking is due to start.
