City of Boroondara x CERES 

Are you ready to become the next generation of Boroondara’s environmental leaders?

Join our funded Sustainability Changemaker program: an immersive, tailored course designed to empower you to take climate action and create sustainable change in your community. 

About the program

What you’ll experience

  • 10 weekly sessions held after hours. Each session is 3 hours duration.
  • In-person learning held locally at Council’s Camberwell offices, 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell.
  • Program delivered by CERES School of Nature and Climate, experts with 43 years in sustainability education.
  • 90% of the course fees funded by Council (participant to pay $119.60). 

Topics include

  • Indigenous culture
  • creating and delivering community-led climate action
  • behaviour change practices
  • communications and consultation skills.

What you’ll gain

  • Practical, transferable skills in project management, communication and collaboration
  • Resource booklet to support your sustainability journey
  • Confidence to lead sustainability projects in your community
  • Become part of a strong network of young changemakers
  • Create and showcase your own project at the end of the program
  • A CERES-accredited micro-credential.

Program timing

Two programs will be delivered this year, with a maximum of 15 participants in each. 

  • Wednesday 18 March to Wednesday 27 May
  • August to October 2026 (dates TBC).

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Individuals aged 18 to 35.
  • People who live, work or study in Boroondara.
  • You must be able to commit to the full 10-week program.

Submit an online Expression of interest form, including a 200-word personal statement outlining:

  • your passion for sustainability
  • why you want to turn ideas into action
  • your commitment to attending all sessions.
