A building owner can request existing copies of plans and documents that were endorsed as part of a Building Permit.
When considering changes to your property, you may need to show your designer existing plans. These plans are also of interest when conducting historical research.

Order property information for a private building surveyor
When you are considering building works, your building surveyor may request information from Council such as flooding details.

Request building ownership details
When you propose building works, you may need to contact adjoining owners so that you can serve protection works notices.
To obtain the contact details of adjoining owners, a registered building surveyor needs to complete the application form and submit it to Council offices. There is a fee for this request.
If you are not a registered building surveyor and you complete the application, you need to provide details of the building surveyor appointed for the works, including their registration number.
Order a Council report for a solicitor
When you sell a property, the solicitor may request information about Building Permits issued in the last 10 years. They may also request inspection details and property hazard information, such as flooding details.
