When your booking request for a park, garden or sportsground is approved, we will send you an invoice for hiring the venue.
|Alexandra, Canterbury, Central, Maranoa or Surrey Gardens (includes exclusive use of the rotundas at Canterbury Gardens and Alexandra Gardens)||$153.50 per hour|

|Casual sportsground hire||$67 per hour|
|Pavilions and halls||$67.50 per hour|
Fees for temporary structures
At the time of invoicing, you may incur extra charges due to the size or number of marquees at your event.

Bonds for venue hire
When Council invoices you for venue hire, you may also be asked to pay a bond.
Type of bond
When is this refunded?
Event bond - requested when aspects of the event pose a risk of damage to the park.
Minimum $200 up to the amount, as per risk calculated
The bond is refunded in full four weeks after the event, if the site is left in the same condition it was prior to the event.
Swipe card/key bond - required if you are provided with a swipe card or key for access to the venue.
The bond is refunded when the swipe card or key is returned.
Permitted activities (Council approval required)
- Children’s entertainment (face painting, magicians, party characters, etc.)
- Equipment that can be weighted down
- Animal farms/petting zoos/Pony rides
- Reptile farms/live enclosures
- Jumping castles
- Amusement rides
- Portable BBQs (gas, electric, coals, spit roast)
- Fog machines
- Equipment that will be pegged or staked into the grounds
Cancellations made with more than 10 business days' notice will be charged a $57 cancellation fee during the refund process.
Cancellations made with less than 10 full business days' notice will lead to the forfeit of the total hire fee to the Council.
Cancellations of bookings must be made in writing by emailing [email protected] and including a reference to your booking ID and location.
