Summer in the Park is back in February and March 2023. Over 5 weekends, with 16 events at 11 parks and gardens, experience live theatre, jazz, opera and more!
About the program
Summer in the Park is one of the City of Boroondara’s most loved series of arts and culture events.
It features an exciting program of free events in our iconic parks and gardens, including:
- Jazz in the Park
- Opera in the Park
- Cinema in the Park
- Family Fun in the Park
- Theatre in the Park.
You can also enjoy a number of ‘bite-sized’ pop-up one-hour performances across the City.
All events are free, but bookings are required due to limited capacity for Theatre in the Park and for the meet and greets with Bluey and Bingo that are a part of the Family fun in the park event.
So pack a picnic, gather your family and friends and head to our idyllic parks and gardens this summer.
Weather
Summer in the Park will continue in mild to poor weather conditions. In the event of heavy rain or storms, the event may be cancelled for safety reasons. We are not able to reschedule cancelled events.
What to bring
Bring a picnic, picnic rug and an appetite to enjoy our stunning parks and gardens.
You may also like to consider bringing:
- sun-safe items like sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses
- comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
- a lawn chair that will not block the view of other guests
- your pet dog, as long as they are on lead and supervised at all times.
Food and drink
Some limited food and drink will be available at certain events. Otherwise, we encourage you to bring a picnic or to order take away from the many local traders near the event sites.
Alcohol is permitted. Please be mindful of laws regarding public intoxication and drink responsibly.
