As a library member, you can:

  • enrol in online courses through Creativebug and LinkedIn Learning
  • learn English online with Road to IELTS
  • learn a new language with Transparent Language Online.

These online learning resources are free when you join the library.

To log in you need:

  • Your 14-digit membership number (under the barcode on your library card).
  • Your 6-digit PIN (your date of birth in DDMMYY format).

Creativebug

Creativebug offers thousands of online arts and craft classes and workshops for the whole family. New classes are added daily.

Try out a new hobby today!  You can learn how to:

  • paint 
  • knit
  • crochet
  • sew
  • screen print.

  5. Log in using the app.

Learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve your personal and professional goals.

How to access LinkedIn Learning

Using a home computer (PC) or laptop

To create your free account:

  1. Go to LinkedIn Learning and click get started.
  2. Enter your library membership number and PIN.

To access courses in another language:

  1. Once logged in, select a language.
  2. Use the drop down box to select French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Simplified Chinese or Portuguese.

Using a mobile phone or tablet

To create your free account:

  1. Download the LinkedIn Learning app for Apple-external site or Android-external site.
  2. Tap sign in.
  3. Select sign in with your library card.
  4. Type 'boroondara' in place of 'library ID' and tap continue.
  5. Enter your library membership number and PIN.

Road to IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

Prepare for the IELTS exam with: 

  • over 120 hours of interactive activities
  • advice from experts
  • practice tests to download.

Road to IELTS is also useful for learners of English at intermediate level and above.

To create your free account:

  1. Go to either Road to IELTS – Academic-external site or Road to IELTS – General-external site.
  2. Enter your library number.
  3. Select sign in/register.
  4. Select create an account.
  5. Enter your email address and create a password.

Transparent Language Online

Discover more than 80 languages to learn online. This resource also includes:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for native speakers of 28 different languages.
  • Languages in ‘Kidspeak’, for children aged 6 and above.

  3. Enter your email address and create a username and password.
  4. Choose a language to learn.

Using a mobile phone or tablet

To create your free account:

  1. Go to Transparent Language Online-external site and select the sign up tab.
  2. Enter your library membership number.
  3. Enter your email address and create a username and password.
  4. Choose a language to learn and select go mobile.
  5. Choose your device and review the instructions.
  6. Copy down your unique code.
  7. Download the Transparent Language app-external site and authorise it with your code.
