Online newspapers and magazines

For some online publications, you need your library membership details.

  • Your 14 digit membership number is under the barcode on your library card.
  • Your 6-digit PIN is your date of birth in DDMMYY format.

The Age

A digital copy of The Age printed newspaper.

Back-issues are available for up to 6 months.

To log in at home, go to The Age and enter your membership number and PIN.

There is a limit of two users at a time.

Choice magazine

Read current and archived editions of Choice and Choice Computer magazines via Flipster.

To use Flipster on a PC or laptop, go to Flipster and enter your library membership number.

To access back-issues, select the current edition and click All issues.

To use Flipster on a phone or tablet:

  1. Go to the App Store or Google Play and search for the word Flipster.
  2. Download the app.
  3. Tap Get started.
  4. Search for and select City of Boroondara Library Service.
  5. Sign in using your library membership number.

Newsbank provides current and archived articles from Australian and international papers.

Overdrive Magazines (formerly RBdigital)

Access more than 3000 digital Australian and international magazines to read online or download to your mobile device.

RBdigital magazines have now moved across to our Overdrive website and Libby app. Magazines will continue to be available on the RBdigital platform until 30 April 2021.

To use Overdrive on a PC or laptop:

  1. Go to OverDrive and sign in using your membership number and PIN.
  2. Use the search function to find a particular magazine or click collections to navigate the magazine options.

    1. Go to Meet Libby and download the Libby app to your device.
    2. Tap yes to confirm you have a library membership. Then select I'll search for a library.
    3. Search for Boroondara Library Service and log in with your library membership number and PIN.
    4. Use the search function to find a particular magazine or click preferences and change the format to magazines to browse the entire collection.
