As a library member, you have access to a wide variety of films and music through Beamafilm, Kanopy and Freegal streaming services. You can play movies and songs on a phone, tablet or computer. Or you can watch films on a television screen using a casting device, TV app or HDMI cable.

These online resources are free when you join the library.

To log in you need:

  • Your 14-digit membership number (under the barcode on your library card).
  • Your 6-digit PIN (your date of birth in DDMMYY format).

Beamafilm

With Beamafilm, you can watch unlimited feature films and documentaries with:

  • a mobile phone or tablet
  • a home computer or laptop
  • an android TV app
  • a casting device
  • an HDMI cable.

      To create your free account:

      1. Download the Beamafilm app for Apple or Android.
      2. Select library card access.
      3. Search for Boroondara Library Service and enter your library membership number.
      4. Fill out the form and create a password.
      5. Log in with your new Beamafilm account details.

      Freegal

      With Freegal you can:

      • stream music from a variety of artists, genres and record labels
      • download up to 5 songs each week. These songs are yours to keep, so each week you can build on your music collection.

      Listen to Freegal on a mobile phone or tablet

      To create your free account:

      1. Download the Freegal app for Apple or Android.
      2. Type in 'Camberwell' and select 'Boroondara Library Service'.
      3. Log in using your library membership number and PIN.
      4. Search for a song and tap for streaming/download options.
      5. Go to the my music tab to see and listen to all of your downloaded songs.

      To create your free account:

      1. Go to Freegal Music.
      2. Select log in and enter your library membership number and PIN.
      3. Search for a title and either stream or select the download link next to the song.
      4. When prompted, select save and choose the location you would like to store the song. If you're not prompted to save, right-click the download file and select the option that allows you to save the link or open the folder.

      Kanopy

      With Kanopy you can:

      • watch over 30,000 documentaries, films and TV series
      • view up to 10 films per calendar month and once a film plays, you'll have 3 days of unlimited viewing
      • enjoy unlimited plays on all films from our Kanopy Kids portal, which don’t count towards your monthly quota.

      3. Select find library.
      4. Search for Boroondara Library Service.
      5. Enter your library membership number and PIN.

      7. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your email account.

      3. Enter your library membership number and PIN.
      4. Fill out the form and create a password.
