‘Share a Plate’ is an interactive artwork for all ages in the Hawthorn Arts Centre Explore and Create space.
Inspired by food and memories, artist Laetitia Olivier-Gargano invites you to create an illustration of something that reminds you of home, which will then be added to the exhibition giant plate.
As you create and add your own artworks to Laetitia’s, the wall will represent an entire meal of memories to share together.
Delve further into the world of food and art with the Town Hall Gallery major exhibition ‘DISH’. The artists featured in ‘DISH’ delve into the ways food allows us to share stories, explore creativity and feel connectedness.
About the artist
Laetitia Olivier-Gargano is an emerging artist, currently based in Melbourne. She undertook research in Japan, learning how to make their iconic plastic food samples. Laetitia’s practice often involves ‘hyper-surrealistic’ resin cast sculpture, stop-motion animation and works on paper. Her sculptural collage, ‘It tastes like home’ is part of the Town Hall Gallery group exhibition, DISH.
