Chatty Cafe is a community-driven global initiative, designed to reduce loneliness and social isolation by creating designated "Chatty Tables" in cafes, libraries, and community hubs where people can sit and converse freely.

It recognises how the simple act of having a chat over a cuppa can support wellbeing and help keep communities connected. Talking with others in your local community can really brighten your day and create new friendships.

Chatty cafe at Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre (APARC) welcomes everyone! People on their own, in a couple, with a friend, carers, people with a disability, mums with new babies, students, parents with babies and kids, grandparents, people of all ages and from all demographics.

This is an ongoing event on the first and third Friday of every month.

No need to book. Just turn up at the centre cafe.

This is a community-run event and not organised by Council. No responsibility is taken for incorrect information, changes, or cancellations
