Founded in 1982, Chao Feng is Australia’s oldest and largest registered non-profit Chinese orchestra. For more than 4 decades, the orchestra has been dedicated to promoting the beauty of traditional Chinese music and fostering cultural connections within Australia’s multicultural community.
Under the baton of Mr Yat Ping Chan and Mr Jinghao Lim, this year’s program takes audiences on a musical journey through the diverse landscapes and cultural traditions of China. From the folk charm of Sichuan and the vibrant spirit of Northern Shaanxi to the sweeping Mongolian grasslands, the concert features a rich selection of orchestral works alongside outstanding solo performances on the guzheng, shaoqin and dizi.Whether you are a long-time lover of Chinese music or discovering it for the first time, this concert promises an inspiring afternoon of magnificent music, rich cultural heritage and exceptional musicianship. We warmly invite audiences of all backgrounds to join us in celebrating 44 years of music-making and experience the timeless beauty of Chinese orchestral music.
This event is proudly supported by City of Boroondara Grants Program.
