Read 1000 Books Before School

Boroondara’s 1000 Books Before School program encourages parents and pre-school children to start their literacy journey, and commit to reading 1000 books together, before the first day of school.

Whether it’s a book you’ve read together at home, a story from kinder, a library storytime session, or one that’s been read multiple times before, log them all in your 1000 Books Before School reading passport, complete activities and earn rewards along the way.

Reusable nappies workshop

Location: Kew Neighbourhood Learning Centre, 2-12 Derby Rd Kew Kew

Our lovely play space includes a blend of natural, repurposed and traditional materials in an aesthetically pleasing environment.
Friday 9:30am to 12pm. No need to book $5.50 per family.

Story Box

Days: Monday

Price: Free

Boroondara Libraries membership gives you free access to the Story Box Library which features videos of engaging Australian stories read by some of Australia's finest storytellers. Cheeky, charming and a whole lot of fun!

Structured playgroup - Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre

Days: Monday

Location: Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre, 2 Kendall Street Canterbury

Facilitated by an early childhood educator, toddlers and pre-schoolers learn new skills through play, games, stories and music. Parents, grandparents or carers are encouraged to join in.
