We’re calling on young artists aged 4 to 18 years who live or study in Boroondara to create colourful designs that show why e-waste doesn’t belong in household bins.
We’ll bring the winning design to life as large-scale artwork on 4 of our waste collection trucks, which will travel through neighbourhoods across Boroondara for years to come.
Download the worksheet on our web page or pick up a printed copy from Council Customer Service at 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell.
Use bright coloured pencils, textas or paint - our trucks love bold, colourful designs.
Drop off your completed design at our Customer Service desk, located at 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell.
You can also post it to Private Bag 1, Camberwell VIC 3124. Please send entries flat (not folded) in an A4 envelope.
We’re unable to accept scanned documents, as they may not maintain enough quality when the artwork is enlarged.
Entries close 5 pm Friday 29 May 2026.
We’re inviting you to help share an important message with our community: e-waste doesn’t belong in our bins.
Your artwork can show how to safely dispose of e-waste and support cleaner, safer recycling for everyone.
e-waste includes any item with a battery, plug or power cord that is no longer working. It includes everyday items such as old batteries, phones, chargers and other electronics. For more examples of e-waste visit the Sustainability Victoria website.
When e-waste is placed in bins, it can start dangerous fires when it is compacted in our collection trucks which puts our drivers at risk. When this happens, the entire load must be removed to put the fire out. If it’s a recycling truck, this means the material collected can’t be recycled and must go to landfill.
You can drop-off e-waste at designated e-waste recycling points or book a hard waste collection. Items are then sorted and recycled safely so valuable materials can be recovered and harmful components are kept out of landfill.
