What to expect when volunteering workshop

Are you new to volunteering or thinking of becoming a volunteer? This session is for you.

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre invites community members who volunteer or are thinking of becoming a volunteer to a free online information session to gain an insight in what to expect when volunteering, from setting your boundaries, understanding your rights and responsibilities to how to effectively communicate with your supervisor.

In this session you’ll learn:

• general overview of volunteering, including your Rights and Responsibilities as a volunteer
• understanding what a boundary is and why they are important
• learning how to look after yourself by understand the importance of establishing professional boundaries as a volunteer
• effective communication and giving feedback well
• implement strategies to establish strong relationships
• group discussions and questions.

In this 1.5 hour workshop facilitated by Volunteering Victoria, you'll equip yourself with the tools required to take on a volunteer role.
