The Tudor Choristers warmly invite prospective singers to join us for open rehearsals as we begin preparing our next concert program, 'Winter is icumen in'. These rehearsals are a relaxed opportunity to sing with the choir, meet the ensemble and our music director, and explore the repertoire for our upcoming performances.This new program reflects on themes of winter, change and the turning of the seasons. We will explore music that speaks to transformation, stillness and renewal. Inspired by the famous medieval song 'Sumer is icumen in', our program playfully turns to the colder season and the rich musical and symbolic ideas associated with winter.
We would be delighted to welcome capable singers who are fairly confident sight-readers and are experienced singing 4-part harmony. We would also hope that you are interested in performing Tudor and Renaissance music as part of our repertoire in a small ensemble setting.
