Fleeting negative thoughts and self-criticism are part of the human experience. Developing self-compassion has been shown to be an effective way to minimise emotional challenges.
Compassion is a virtue we can all foster and cultivate with practice. Research shows a strong relationship between increased self-compassion, improved well-being and reduced anxiety and loneliness over time.
Exercises to develop skills will be shared, with a focus on how parents can support their children and perhaps learn some skills themselves along the way.Dr Eleonora Cattini holds a doctorate in clinical child, adolescent and family psychology. She has over 20 years of combined university training and clinical experience, across the public and private sectors, and in delivering postgraduate university education. Eleonora has expertise in cognitive assessment work in diagnosing learning disorders and diagnosing ADHD.
