Parring Road Balwyn VIC 3103
Join us for an evening of insect spotting and identification with the Entomological Society of Victoria. We'll be there to help you spot, learn about and record your sightings, as we focus on our amazing insect species.
We'll take you on a guided walk through the gardens to spot various spider species, followed by the opportunity to look at moths on our moth sheet.
We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event, however this is not essential to attend the session.
Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for an outdoor walk along uneven ground. Bring a torch and dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
Note: Children in attendance must have an adult guardian present throughout the event. It's the guardian’s responsibility to supervise your child.
This event is for kids. We're running another session for adults at 7:30 pm.
Let's see Boroondara's incredible biodiversity together.
Meet at the Parring Rd entry gate (off Whitehorse Road) at Maranoa Botanic Gardens. This is also the main carpark for the gardens. A staff member will meet you at this entry gate to begin the tour. Note, the gardens are locked at this time and no other gates will be open. Please arrive on time.
Keep an eye on the weather forecast. We will email attendees if we need to cancel/postpone any events. Please keep an eye on your emails prior to the event for updates.
The personal information required for this booking is necessary for us to keep you informed about the event or event cancellations. Any other information requested is optional and will only be used to help us evaluate our program and plan future events.
