Under the direction of conductor, Douglas Heywood OAM, an afternoon performance of Mozart’s final and most profound work, his 'Requiem'. This is a powerful and moving choral work renowned for dramatic intensity, stirring sequences, rich harmonies and evocative use of choir and orchestra. Exploring themes of mourning, hope and redemption, the Mozart 'Requiem' is one of the most enduring and celebrated pieces in classical music.
Michael Easton’s compelling 'Unsung Heroes' is based on the poetry of 6 famous English poets who served in WWI and is a personal reflection of the composer on the horror of war and its ultimate uselessness. First written in 1990, this work was specifically dedicated by the composer to Camberwell Chorale and its musical director, Douglas Heywood.
