Activities for seniors

Regular concerts, which are popular with older Kew residents. Our band features brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. We play swing, classical, pop, film and traditional band music (e.g. marches). Runs on Fridays during the school term from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. Cost: free.

Have a cup of tea with BASScare Volunteers and settle in for a challenging afternoon of learning, quizzes and brain challenging activities. Runs on Mondays from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.

You’ll feel welcome in this friendly group as you play and chat. New and experienced players welcome. Runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 12:30 pm to 4 pm. Cost: $5.

Intermediate to advanced players, duplicate games, partners required. Runs on Wednesdays from 12 pm to 4 pm. Cost: $5 plus annual membership ($15).

Come along and play bridge with Northern Bridge Club.

Camberwell Camera Club, a friendly group with nearly 70 years of history and about 150 active members, welcomes new members with all levels of photographic experience. The Club meets every Monday at 7:30 pm for guest presentations and workshops, as well as offering mid-week outings, and it's annual ‘beyond point and shoot’ course which will help you take your photography to the next level. Camberwell Chorale is a mixed Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass choir, performing major and lesser known works from the classical chorale repertory, typically with around five concerts each year. New choristers are always welcome. Please feel free to come and sit in on a rehearsal before you join. Cost: price varies, please see our website for more information. Runs on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 10 pm.

At Camberwell Film Society (CFS) screenings, members share the viewing experience with fellow film enthusiasts, enjoying a wide range of films from local and overseas sources. Screenings are a social occasion and members are encouraged to take part in discussions before/after the film. CFS is a member of the Federation of Victorian Film Societies which promotes and co-ordinates the work of film groups and film festivals throughout Victoria.Third Wednesday of the month from February to November (second Wednesday in December).

Κέντρο Ελλήνων Βετεράνων Λέσχη Ηλικιωμένων του Kew & Districts Inc: Συγκεντρώνονται ελληνόφωνες ηλικιωμένοι για να γιορτάσουν εκδηλώσεις όπως το Πάσχα και τα Χριστούγεννα, πάνε σε ημερήσιες εκδρομές, παίζουν χαρτιά, ντόμινο, τάβλι, μπίνγκο, πινγκ-πονγκ. Τέσσερις φορές το μήνα οργανώνονται μεσημεριανά γεύματα. Greek speaking seniors get together to celebrate events like Easter and Christmas, go on day trips, play cards, dominos, backgammon, bingo, table tennis. Cost: $5 per year for membership, and $5 per session. Runs on Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.
