Activities for seniors

Our club conducts Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) on topics ranging from bridge, heritage/genealogy, computer, investment, photography, to woodcraft as well as having walking groups, golf, dining out, lunch and chat, theatre and travel outings. Cost: please contact the club for details.

We are a mixed group of seniors whose Club has monthly Monday meetings with a guest speaker. Other varied and interesting activities are also organised including dine-outs, excursions, theatre, films, walks, garden groups, caravan and cabin group, craft and conversation group, picnics. We meet on the third Friday of each month (December and January excluded) from 10 am to 12 pm. A short formal meeting is followed by a presentation from an interesting speaker. Other activities we run include a discussion group, film group, discovery walking, dining out, and morning coffee regularly across the month. Cost: please contact the club for details.

We are a Probus Club, which provides fellowship, fun and friendship to all retirees. We meet on the second Friday of each month except January from 10 am to noon. We have coffee mornings, a walking group, a group subscribing to the Malvern Theatre company and we also have day activities visiting places of interest. Cost: contact club for details.

Balwyn Probus offers many activity groups including Investment, Walking, Coffee and cake, Movies, Writing for pleasure, Ukulele and Tech Talk. All groups meet monthly on the fourth Friday of the month at Balwyn Community Centre, where we hear a thought-provoking speaker and enjoy the company of friends the club has helped us make. We welcome partners, friends and visitors to join us in all activities. We offer a 60-day guest membership.

Make new friends, keep active and stay socially connected at Balwyn Evergreen Centre. We're a dynamic and caring community offering a range of activities for seniors in Boroondara. We offer a full exercise program, weekly 'Evergreen Club' luncheons and concerts, bus outings, Active Living Program, a ladies' luncheon group, special events, guest speakers, transport service, Allied Health Podiatry, dog walking and more. There's something for everyone and our aim is to keep seniors living full and independent lives in their community.

Our U3A is a welcoming environment that aims to provide learning opportunities and social interaction for retired and semi-retired members of the community. There is a wide range of classes and activities on offer and presenters are drawn from both outside and within the member group. We run over 70 full year courses – languages, exercise & walking groups, literature & film groups, music courses, art classes, extending your thinking sessions, history groups and travel presentations. These are all led by member tutors. Plus more than 80 short courses each term presented by local, interstate, and international lecturers.
