Activities for seniors

Many aged care services provide community buses to pick you up for regular trips to local shopping centres, libraries, senior citizen clubs and community health centres. There are also volunteer drivers who can take you to medical appointments and the like. Contact My Aged Care to see if you're eligible for subsidised services. If you are eligible an assessor will help you find services to suit your needs.

Many of our members are keen and curious travellers, and their journeys take them all over the world. Come and hear their stories, and perhaps share your own. Become a member of U3A Deepdene to access these and over 70 other courses and activities.

Weather permitting, you meet every Tuesday morning for a cruise around Camberwell!

Learn to play the ukulele with tutor Des Mahoney. His enthusiasm and skill is renowned. It’s the most fun you can have with four strings! Classes for absolute beginners through to advanced players.

Learn advanced strumming and picking and how to play with others - for those with some experience playing the ukulele.

This class continues on from the beginner's class and is open to others with experience.

Our U3A is a welcoming environment that aims to provide learning opportunities and social interaction for retired and semi-retired members of the community. There is a wide range of classes and activities on offer and presenters are drawn from both outside and within the member group. We run over 70 full year courses – languages, exercise & walking groups, literature & film groups, music courses, art classes, extending your thinking sessions, history groups and travel presentations. These are all led by member tutors. Plus more than 80 short courses each term presented by local, interstate, and international lecturers.
