Activities for seniors

Join us on Tuesday and Friday mornings between 9:30 am to 11 am at the Seniors Exercise Park in Victoria Park, Kew. These sessions are run by a group of 10 volunteers from the community who have undertaken training with the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI). This friendly, enthusiastic team is equipped to run our Come and Try sessions at the park, and demonstrate how you can use the equipment safely and effectively. If you’re interested in ways to improve balance, strength, or mobility, or you want to try a new activity this year, come along to our next Come and Try session.

Whether you would like to learn techniques to start you off on your sewing journey or some professional techniques and finishes to take to the next level, this is the class for you. BYO sewing machine.
Tuesdays 12:30 to 3 pm

Book clubs, Creative Memoir writing classes, and personal history writing sessions. Classes and groups delivered both online and via Telelink for those who don’t use computers.

We have social tennis, coaching for all ages and competition tennis, with a midweek ladies morning competition and night competition.

Public court hire is now available. Check availability and hire a court at the Kew Tennis Club website.

For medium level tennis players who would like to join a small group to play on a regular basis. Become a member of U3A Deepdene to access these and over 70 other courses and activities.

A regular fortnight gathering inviting Chinese elderly participants to build community cohesion promoting general health and wellness.Meetings will be held onsite every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month starting 9 October. Featured activities will include: healthy exercises for the elderly, special topics of community interest, birthday parties, games, English classes and music classes. We'll continue as long as there is community interest. $15 per session.
