Some of our services are closed or have different hours on Anzac Day public holiday on Thursday 25 April 2024.

The Gallery of Young Art (GoYA) at Hawthorn Arts Centre is a space developed by young people, for young people and provides budding artists in our community with the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional space.

Young artists involved with the initiative have access to valuable resources such as industry mentors, materials and support to nurture and cultivate their creative talents.

Pride Month: Celebrating Community

Submissions for this exhibition have now closed.

Our Celebrating Community exhibition will be displayed at the Gallery of Young Art for Pride Month in June 2023.

Community exhibition program

The Community exhibition program at GoYA is devoted to celebrating talented local young artists. Young creatives can submit an application of interest to be exhibited at GoYA.

Expressions of interest are currently open.

Location and hours

GoYA is at the  Boroondara Youth Hub, next to the arts precinct at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. 

Opening hours are 12 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.

GoYA is an initiative of Solar Productions, a music and cultural events program for young people, funded by Council and the Victorian Government’s FReeZA program.

FReeZA is a Victorian Government initiative that supports young Victorians to get involved in their community by planning and running drug, alcohol and smoke-free events for other young people.
