10/03/2025 7:30 pm 10/03/2025 9:30 pm Kew Court House Live: Jarabi Jarabi Band leads audiences on a dynamic journey from the ancient Manding Empire of West Africa to modern-day city life, weaving the timeless musical traditions of Guinea with contemporary sounds of Melbourne's vivid music scene. Led by visionary master musician Mohamed Camara, Jarabi crafts a unique fusion of infectious rhythms on the djembe and dunun, intricate melodies on the kora, guitar and balafon, and soul-stirring vocals. Jarabi Band’s debut album Duniama - In This World (2023, Music in Exile, with support from Creative Victoria) includes lead single Djamana, which placed in the top 10 finalists for 2024's Needle in the Hay competition.In 2024, Jarabi Band's national album launch tour (delivered with support from Australia Council for the Arts) intoxicated audiences at some of the country's most revered venues and events, including Melbourne Recital Centre, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Dark Mofo, Mona Foma, Illawarra Folk Festival and the High Country Hop. Driven by a deep desire to share Guinea’s music and culture with the world, Jarabi Band delivers an exciting sound which transcends cultural barriers and speaks a universal language. , City of Boroondara [email protected] Australia/Melbourne public

Jarabi Band leads audiences on a dynamic journey from the ancient Manding Empire of West Africa to modern-day city life, weaving the timeless musical traditions of Guinea with contemporary sounds of Melbourne's vivid music scene.
