Entry information
Registration fee is $25 unless otherwise stated.
Adjudicators:
- Andrew Wailes (Classical, Oratorio/Cantata, Art Song/Lieder, Vocal Championship heats)
- Judith Dodsworth (Vocal Championship Final)
- Fem Belling (Contemporary)
Participants who are either related to the adjudicator or have been taught privately by the adjudicator within 6 months prior to date of event are ineligible to participate in this section.
Accompanist fee: $10 (not available for Contemporary Vocal Solo sections)
The official accompanist must be booked and the fee paid at the time of entry. The accompanist fee covers the performance only. Rehearsals are strongly encouraged and can be arranged directly with the accompanist. These will incur additional fees as determined by the accompanist. Entrants may use their own accompanist by private arrangement.
- Pre-recorded accompaniment is not permitted for:
- Classical Vocal Solo
- Oratorio/Cantata Solo
- Art Song/Lieder Solo
- Classical Vocal Championship

- Contemporary Vocal sections: Participants must either provide their own piano accompanist or provide pre-recorded accompaniment in mp3 format on USB on the day of the event. Participants are not allowed to accompany themselves.

Requirements: Two contrasting songs of own choice (e.g. upbeat and ballad, jazz and pop). Contemporary styles – not musical theatre.

Time limit: Heats – 8 minutes; Final – 12 minutes
Requirements: Heats – One operatic aria of own choice. Final – Finalists must sing the operatic aria from their heats together with one other contrasting classical piece of own choice (e.g. lieder or art song) which has not been sung in any other section at this year’s Eisteddfod.
Eligibility: Participants must have also performed in either Section 2.01 (Classical Vocal Solo), 2.02 (Oratorio/Cantata) or 2.03 (Art Song/Lieder).
Prizes: 1st – $800, 2nd – $500, 3rd – $300
