Event details
Miss Emilia
Miss Emilia creates music from a place of deep truth — shaped by adversity, rooted in tenderness, and blooming with resilience. A great lover of both the natural world and the complexities of the inner one, her sound is much like the swan in The Ugly Duckling: different, honest, a little clumsy, and hopelessly beautiful.
Drawing lyrical inspiration from poets like Mary Oliver and the smooth, expressive phrasing of vocal jazz greats — as silky as Shirley Horn, as playful as Natalie Cole, and as honeyed as Ella Fitzgerald — Miss Emilia crafts a sound that is effortlessly timeless, nostalgic and fresh. Musically, she finds kinship with modern artists like Laufey and Norah Jones, weaving their new-age magic into her own soulful blend.
Miss Emilia is supported with an opening set by Wren Arkose.
Proudly presented in partnership with Midsumma Festival.
