This carefully curated live performance captures a period before modern recording conventions, when regional styles, improvisation and dance rhythms were central to Greek musical life.
The repertoire is inspired from rare recordings dating between 1905 and 1956, and moves through urban and rural traditions alike – a vivid sonic document of Greece’s cultural history, presented with a deep historical context.
Performing Greek Rhapsody will be Paddy Montgomery, Alex Petropoulos, Con Kalamaras and Paul Karalis.
