David Jones (extended drumkit and percussion)
David is a relentless explorer of sounds, rhythms, shapes and textures. He was a recipient of the Melbourne prize for Music 2010, recognising his contribution to Melbourne’s musical life, universally known as one of the nation’s greatest musicians and leaders.
Two of Australia’s greatest jazz players, Don Burrows (OAM) and Brian Brown (OAM) chose David to be an essential member of their ensembles. He was also a touring drummer with James Morrison for 4 years.
He had 2 Drumkit Concertos with orchestra written specially for him in Japan and in Melbourne with the MSO.
Stephen Magnusson (guitar)
Stephen Magnusson is considered one of Australia’s most accomplished, versatile and distinctive guitarists with incredible technique and an astoundingly beautiful tone.
Stephen has worked with many artists including Charlie Haden, Mike Nock, Enrico Rava, Arthur Blythe and many, many others. In August 2000, he was awarded equal first prize in the National Jazz Award at Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival.
