The Boroondara Stroke Support Group (BSSG) are delighted to host a concert featuring 2 very inspirational people, stars of the 2025 ABC series, The Piano - DJ Ha and Vincenzo Pandolfi.
DJ, a young concert pianist, had previously had a severe stroke, which resulted in him being only able to play with his left hand, which he does brilliantly. Vincenzo was the carer of his late wife, Elaine, also a pianist, who was a stroke survivor, who sadly passed away only weeks before Vincenzo and DJ performed in the special concert at the City Recital Hall in Sydney. Both performers received a standing, emotional ovation.
The concert which is being held in National Stroke Week aims to raise both funds and awareness of stroke in our community and beyond.
Also performing, to be accompanied by DJ, will be BSSG's Sing for Recovery choir. They will sing 'Rise Above' a song, in part written by some stroke survivor and carer members of the choir. The song is very meaningful and will be made available to other stroke organisations in Australia, around the world and to any other organisations who feel their members could benefit from the meaningful words and the lovely melody.
