Bonnie Jackson
With an uncanny ability to craft visual lyrics and stir intense emotions, Bonnie Jackson writes mature and heartfelt songs. Her instinct for honesty and her captivating vocal delivery create earworms that tighten around your chest and won’t let go. Inspired by songwriters such as Lizzy McAlpine, Billie Holiday, Paul Kelly and Tyler Childers, Bonnie’s sound is equal parts contemporary folk, indie pop, and Australian storyteller.
Based in Dunkeld, in Victoria’s stunning Southern Grampians, Bonnie began playing shows and festivals locally before commencing specialist music study at Northern College of the Arts and Technology in Preston. Trained on drums, guitar, piano and voice, she cut her teeth in local band Twisted Hearts and has begun her solo career, playing events with Port Fairy Winter Weekends Festival, The Velvet Club and busking. Bonnie is currently working on her debut EP and will have her first single, ‘Something We Can’t See’, out in the world in Spring 2025. A poignant plea to a lover, full of confusion and loss, this song offers us a fresh perspective on the cycles of love and mourning.
Bonnie Jackson is joining the Port Fairy Folk Festival through the Future Folk Program, a partnership between Port Fairy Folk Festival and Moyne Shire Council’s AMPLIFY program, with funding by the Victorian Government.
Daisy Kilbourne
Daisy Kilbourne is a soul-stirring artist hailing from the spirited small town of Daylesford, with a heart firmly rooted in the music of the ’70s.
Born into a musical family, Daisy’s talent and love for song run deep, inspired by the legacy of her late father, Wayne Kilbourne, a revered songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her journey through grief after her father’s passing has shaped her as an artist, with music becoming both a refuge and a means of healing.
Daisy’s sound is a modern reflection of her influences – a rich blend of folk, rock, and soul that evokes the raw emotion of the Laurel Canyon scene. Her introspective lyrics transform personal stories of love, loss, and life into a universal language that invites listeners into a space of deep connection. Every note and every word hold a piece of her, weaving a timeless tapestry that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly authentic.
Having supported renowned artists like Adalita, Pete Murray, Dan Sultan and Damien Rice, Daisy has already made her mark on the music scene. She has graced stages at esteemed events such as the Port Fairy Music Festival and the National Folk Festival, captivating audiences with her powerful performances.
Drawing from the spirit of iconic Woodstock-era artists, Daisy crafts music that is raw and undeniably powerful, bringing her father’s legacy into the present while carving out a path that’s uniquely her own.
