Groundbreaking local mechanic Alice Anderson is the woman of the moment here in Boroondara. To mark 100 years since her passing, we’re holding some fabulous events to celebrate her life, including an exhibition, live music and theatre. Join us at Kew Court House to go back in time to Alice's golden age, with The Wikimen – and if you're keen, dress up in your finest 1920's gladrags for the chance to win a prize!

The Wikimen are a Melbourne-based ensemble performing swing jazz, Hawaiian blues, pop and exotica-inspired music from the early 20th century and beyond.
Featuring ukulele, double bass, vibraphone, brass, percussion and rich vocal harmonies, the band creates a warm, playful and highly engaging sound suited to audiences of all ages. Their performances are known for their relaxed, intimate style, encouraging both conversation and dancing.
The Wikimen have performed at a wide range of events, festivals and venues, including Melbourne Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Spicks and Specks, MONA, Melbourne Fashion Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, Darebin Feast, Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, Melbourne Winter Night Market, 45 Downstairs, CERES Market, Wesley Anne, Open Studio and the Spotted Mallard. They have also performed extensively at weddings, community events, family fun days, school and kindergarten fetes, and private celebrations.
The ensemble features:
- Nara Demasson on ukulele, guitar and vocals
- Renato Vacirca on drums and vocals
- Daniel Witton on double bass and vocals
- Justin Marshall on vibraphone, percussion and piano
- Ros Jones on trombone and vocals
- Declan Jones on trumpet.
Kew Court House foyer will also be host to A Spanner in the Works – photographic exhibition during this time. Come early to take a look around!
