Immerse yourself in the enduring brilliance of Neil and Tim Finn’s musical legacy as The Hammon/Rankin Project (HRP) present Something So Strong: HRP Play the Music of the Finn Brothers.
The timeless songs of Crowded House and Split Enz are presented in all-new original arrangements that strive to strike a delicate balance between nostalgia and innovation. Fronted by the captivating voice of Louisa Rankin, fuelled by the soulful trombone of Andrew Hammon and backed by an all-star band of some of Melbourne’s most accomplished musicians, this show has something for everyone.
Split Enz, a pioneering force in New Zealand’s music scene, forged a legacy of innovation and eccentricity. With hits like “I Got You’ and ‘One Step Ahead’, they left an indelible impression, inspiring a generation of musicians. Crowded House, born from the ashes of Split Enz, emerged as a beacon of melodic brilliance. Their heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies, showcased in classics like “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Weather With You,” cemented their place in the pantheon of pop-rock greatness, influencing countless artists with their masterful songwriting.
Hammon/Rankin Project (HRP) formed in 2009 centered around the musical partnership of Louisa Rankin and Andrew Hammon. Their unique blend of voice and trombone lends itself perfectly to the songs of Neil and Tim Finn in what will be an enchanting evening of classic songs, beautiful music and exquisite lyrics.
