Event details
Noria and the Parisians bring Manouche music alive with all its famous verve, swing and string-busting excitement.
Acclaimed French chanteuse Noria Letts has embarked on an ambitious project to pen lyrics for Manouche classics and reworks many other French gems into this vivacious gypsy style.
Totally authentic and with a rich, soulful voice, Noria has performed in clubs across France, Switzerland, Canada and New York and is now based in Melbourne.
A genuine Francophone vocalist, she has headlined at Australia’s premier gypsy jazz festival OzManouche in Brisbane a number of times, as well as Melbourne and Sydney’s Bastille Day Festivals.
She was also honoured to sing La Marseillaise for a global TV audience and capacity crowd at Marvel Stadium before the recent Matildas v France women’s football international competition.
The Parisians are made up of some of the nation’s finest gypsy swing musicians: Peter Baylor (guitar), Jon Hunt (clarinet), Nick Haywood (bass) and Phil Collings (drums).
