Mick Harvey is best known as a founding member of The Boys Next Door, The Birthday Party and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds as well as being a long- time collaborator to both Nick Cave & PJ Harvey.
He has released more than 10 solo albums under his own name including the four-volume series of Serge Gainsbourg translated recordings for which he was appointed a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government, recognizing his significant contributions to the arts, specifically for promoting French culture.
Mick has also contributed to a selection of soundtracks for film and television including Chopper, Australia, Suburban Mayhem.
Amanda Acevedo is a singer, filmmaker and visual artist from Mexico now based in Australia. She met Mick Harvey after he performed with PJ Harvey in Mexico, establishing the start of creative partnership.
The two artists' latest recording sees the duo cover 11 songs by the American songwriter Jackson C. Frank, an almost forgotten but recently rediscovered folk singer from the mid-sixties, whose sole album release was produced by Paul Simon and who counted Laura Marling, Nick Drake, Sandy Denny, Mark Lanegan and Fairport Convention as fans.
The pair will continue working on the Uncovered Sessions while producing an album of original material for release in 2026. This new album follows the duo’s 2023 release Phantasmagoria in Blue and Harvey’s 2024 solo outing Five Ways to Say Goodbye.
