Kew Court House Live: La Mauvaise Réputation
Event details
French jazz & swing virtuosos La Mauvaise Réputation are authentic interpreters of the wild rhythms and passion of 1930s Parisian hot jazz and the beautiful melodies of classic French chanson - sung en français bien sûr.
Event information
Melbourne’s La Mauvaise Réputation brings the romance, swing and swagger of 1930s Paris to life through jazz manouche and classic French chanson.
Formed in 2009, the ensemble performs the music of Django Reinhardt alongside songs made famous by Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Serge Gainsbourg and Georges Brassens, sung en français.
The band has appeared at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Brisbane Festival and OzManouche, as well as the NGV and leading jazz venues around Australia. Their recordings include Bad Reputation and Live at OzManouche, and they have also performed live on ABC Radio National’s The Music Show.
