Moving between neo-classical piano, strings and cinematic soundscapes, the evening also features intimate acoustic reworkings from Simon’s internationally acclaimed Amanaska project.

Musician, composer and producer Simon Lewis, is best known as the creative force behind world-fusion project Amanaska. Lewis has toured across Europe and North America, performed at London’s Notting Hill Carnival, toured the Baltic states, supported Talvin Singh in Melbourne and toured with Duncan Bridgeman of 1 Giant Leap. Amanaska releases have been recorded across Australia, the UK, USA and India, with tracks featured on internationally renowned compilations including Buddha Bar and Café del Mar. Lewis also composed seven tracks for a Buddha Bar Paris CD/DVD collaboration and created a long-running schools program with Musica Viva Australia.

For this performance, Simon invites you into the immersive world of HYPNOS – a deeply atmospheric concert inspired by his acclaimed 2024 neo-classical and ambient piano album of the same name. Making it all the more special, Simon is joined by his daughter Calista Lewis on violin and vocals, and his son Lazarus Lewis on cello.

Together they create a performance that unfolds like a dream.

The opening half is a deep listening experience, where piano, strings and subtle electronic textures breathe as one. Time slows. Familiar thoughts dissolve. The music invites each listener to journey inward – to drift through memory, imagination and stillness, discovering landscapes that exist only behind closed eyes.

The second half reveals another side of Simon's musical world, with intimate acoustic reimaginings of Amanaska favourites alongside rarely performed gems from across his catalogue. Stripped back to their essence, these songs offer warmth, storytelling and moments of joyful connection before gently returning the audience to the present.
