Event details
Joti Van Carlos Gore is a theatre artist, recording singer-songwriter, actor-director, dancer-choreographer, poet – an American-born multitalented and multiracial superstar. Grounded in the arts and music of Black and queer culture, his electrifying charisma and stellar voice epitomise show biz excellence. Vigorous yet graceful, Joti Van Carlos Gore serves up mellifluous, rich, velvety vocals every time he croons. Featuring jazz musician James O’Brien on piano.
“Gore’s charm and feeling way with this material was very engaging … The overall feeling of empathy and relishing the ideas in each song – some sad, some silly, some exuberant – left a very happy audience at the end of the show.” – ArtsHub
Cabaret at the Court House
Cabaret at the Court House is a special performance series curated by renowned jazz singer and cabaret artiste, Mama Alto.
Mama Alto says, “Cabaret is a marvellous art form that combines story, song and stage presence to shape moments of human connection - from the sublime to the ridiculous and everything in between. It delights me to invite Joti Van Carlos Gore to our cabaret series at the Court – he effortlessly traverses the tantalising line between classy and raunchy, and his knowledge of legendary 20th century performers, including his first-hand encounters, is second-to-none.”
