Kew Court House Live: Blues Roulette featuring Lloyd Spiegel

Led by bassist, producer and musical director Ben Wicks, Blues Roulette is a fixture of Australia’s blues scene. Founded in 2015 at Melbourne’s The Catfish, the band reimagines the blues-jam tradition, pairing its rhythm section with a rotating cast of leading artists for spontaneous, one-off performances. Blues Roulette has appeared at festivals and venues around Australia, mounted national tours and released live recordings with Jimi Hocking and Frank Sultana. Collaborators have included Geoff Achison, Louis King and Jesse Valach, while the expanded Blues Roulette Big Band brings the same high-energy approach to classic blues, soul and R&B repertoire including a sell-out Blues Brothers revue at Hawthorn Arts Centre earlier in 2026.

Melbourne blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Lloyd Spiegel began performing professionally at just 10 years old and has spent three decades touring across Australia, North America, Europe and Asia. A 14-time Australian Blues Award winner, Spiegel was inducted into the Blues Music Victoria Hall of Fame in 2025. Renowned for his virtuosic guitar playing, powerful vocals and dry storytelling, he is one of Australia’s most distinctive contemporary blues artists.
